City Hike with Incomings

On May 31st a group of this semester’s incoming students had the pleasure to explore the city of Graz and the beautiful landscape by foot. In the afternoon, we met at the University of Graz, had a look at the new library building and started our walking tour towards Hilmteich. Then we continued our city hike through the forests to Mariatrost where we had a typical Austrian hiking lunch with Extrawurstsemmeln, apples and Manner Schnitten and were able to take a look at the basilica.
Afterwards, those of us who had already had enough of hiking took the tram back home, whereas a smaller group continued to Rettenbachklamm. We enjoyed the way up and were rewarded with a stunning view all over Graz from the top of the hill. Once more we were able to experience the beauty Graz has to offer within the city.
