One semester in the UK? Sounds great, doesn’t it?

It’s now possible for students of the University College of Teacher Education Styria

Five students from Graz and five students from Derby will exchange their student’s lives. This is the outcome of six intensive days at the University of Derby, UK.

Susanne Linhofer, head of the Institute of Diversity Management and International Relations, and Marlene Grabner, teacher and Erasmus Incomings coordinator, spent six days at the University of Derby.
Presenting the Austrian school system with a focus on special needs in workshops with students of different study areas like „Child and Youth Education“ or “Teacher Training”, were only parts of the stay.
Cooperation talks and round table talks offered a great possibility to adapt the existing Erasmus+ contract. From now on 6 students from Graz can study at the University of Derby and also 6 students from Derby will study at the University College of Teacher Education Styria for one semester.

Not only did the students get an overview of the Austrian school system, they also got to know what it’s like to be student in Graz. Presenting work from former Erasmus+ incoming students and the 30 ECTS Erasmus+ course called „ITC – International Teacher Competences“ were of course reasons why 10 students have already decided to apply to come to Graz.
