Three days full of new experiences, teamwork and many smiles!

The Erasmus Welcome Days marked the beginning of the summer semester with a joint trip to Bruck an der Mur. A total of 27 students from Spain, the Netherlands, Ukraine, Italy, Germany, Latvia, the United Kingdom, France and Belgium came together to start their Erasmus experience by getting to know one another and building their first connections.

The trip was organised by the Pädagogische Hochschule Steiermark to support the students as they settle into their new environment.

Day 1: First moments together

After arriving in Bruck an der Mur and settling into their rooms, the group received an overview of the weekend programme.

In the evening, the students participated in simple group and icebreaker games. These activities created a relaxed atmosphere, encouraged conversation and helped everyone feel more comfortable. It didn’t take long before the first friendships began to form.

Day 2: Teamwork in action

Saturday was full of energy and collaboration.

During the Scavenger Hunt, students worked in small international teams to complete ten creative tasks around Bruck an der Mur. They explored the city, talked to local people and solved challenges together. The activity encouraged teamwork and helped them discover the town in a fun way.

Later, the focus shifted to creative group work. Students designed posters about their expectations for the semester and their first impressions of Austria and Graz. The presentations showed creativity, humour and thoughtful reflections.

Additional teambuilding activities throughout the day further strengthened the group dynamic and encouraged cooperation.

Day 3: A positive ending

On the last day, the students presented their posters. It was interesting to see their different perspectives and ideas for the semester ahead.

The weekend ended with a short closing session. With new friendships, shared experiences and many positive impressions, the students returned to Graz ready to begin their semester.
