Looking back at my internship in Graz
With the last semester behind me, I would like to take a moment to look back at my time as an intern at the Institute for Diversity Studies and International Relations at Pädagogische Hochschule Steiermark.
Over the past months, this internship has been a very valuable experience for me both professionally and personally. I had the chance to see how international cooperation and student mobility programmes are organised at a university level and to be part of the work that supports international students during their stay in Graz.

One of my main tasks was managing the Erasmus+ Journal. I published news from OeAD and other international programmes as well as reports written by students who participated in the Erasmus+ programme and wanted to share their experiences abroad. It was always interesting to read about their journeys and help share these stories with others.
Another part of my internship involved supporting incoming international students. I tried my best to help them with any questions they might have and to support them during their studies in Graz. I was also responsible for communication between students and the International Office, helping to pass on important information and updates.
In addition, I helped with the organisation of different events. One of the most memorable experiences for me was International Week Come2Graz. During this week, the university welcomed visitors from many different parts of the world. It was a very inspiring and dynamic week that truly reflected the international spirit of the university.
Alongside these tasks, I also discovered some creative sides of the job. I had the opportunity to improve my photography and video-making skills while documenting events and creating content.
Of course, the internship also had its challenges. Sometimes the language barrier made communication a bit more difficult, and balancing different tasks required good time management. However, these situations also helped me learn how to adapt and organise my work more efficiently.
Living in Graz during this time was also a wonderful experience. I really enjoy the atmosphere of the city and the vibrant student life here. Getting a chance to improve my German was a bonus.
I feel really grateful for everything I learned and for the support I received from the team. This internship has given me valuable experience and many great memories, and I am very happy that I will be able to continue this journey in the upcoming summer semester.
