Welcome Days in Fürstenfeld

Three days, many smiles and new connections!

The Erasmus Welcome Days brought together students from different countries to start their winter semester with a warm welcome, engaging activities and lots of fun.

Last week, a short trip to the charming historic city of Fürstenfeld was organised to help the Erasmus students from Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Ukraine and Hungary settle into their new environment, get to know one another, and begin the semester with good energy.

During the first meeting, students were introduced to the ITC course program and provided with general information regarding their stay in Graz. They were also briefed on the upcoming trip planned for them.

Day 1: Arrival in Fürstenfeld and Evening activities

The group left for Fürstenfeld right on time, with all students showing excellent punctuality and enthusiasm. Upon arrival, they were given an overview of the plans for the rest of the day before heading off to settle into their rooms.

In the evening, some of the teachers were introduced, allowing the group to become more familiar with part of the team leading the program. Later, the first activities and icebreaker games took place, which made the evening even more enjoyable.

Day 2: Full of Challenges and Fun

The second day was packed with activities!

In the morning, the Scavenger Hunt took students through the streets of Fürstenfeld, with tasks ranging from exploring hidden corners to speaking with locals. We were lucky to come across Biofest in the town, and were able to taste delicious samples of jams and fresh vegetables.

Later, they worked in their ITC groups, creating posters about their expectations for the upcoming semester and their first impressions of Graz.

A few more outdoor activities kept the energy high and the team spirit growing.

The day ended with a bowling evening, where students not only played but also taught each other. It was a day full of learning, connection, and fun.

Day 3: Wrapping Up with Creativity

The final day was spent with the students presenting their posters, and it was incredible to see how much creativity, individuality, and humour they brought into their work. Each group managed to capture their expectations and impressions in a unique way, showing not only teamwork but also personal flair.

A short closing speech from the teachers rounded off the program. With bags packed and memories made, we headed back to Graz, tired but happy, and full of new experiences.

The PHSt team wishes all students a wonderful semester filled with discoveries, challenges, and friendships that will last a lifetime. May this weekend be just the beginning of something great.

Welcome to Graz, and welcome to Erasmus+!
